Sleep and Chronotype in Black Families Study

Study Overview

Through this study, researchers at Purdue University want to learn about your infant’s sleep patterns within the context of your family sleep and activity schedule

Who can be in the Study
Black mothers with a child between 4 and 24 months in their home can enroll in this study. Mothers will be asked to provide sleep and schedule information for each member of the family.

What Happens in the Study

Your involvement in the study will take about 8 days, with a total active time of roughly 65-105 minutes. Study activities include:

  • Online survey: We will send you two online forms. These forms will ask about your infant and family sleep schedules, your general daily schedule, sleep quality for each adult in the home, and a series of general questions about your family. The questions will take roughly 25 minutes.
  • Daily sleep diary: You will be asked to enter a daily sleep diary for each member of your household for up to 7 days/nights. The diary takes around 5-10 minutes to complete. This diary is to help our researchers better understand typical sleeping patterns throughout the week.

Families who complete all study activities will receive a $45 gift card.

If you are interested or have any questions, please call or text (317) 500-4642, email sleep@purdue.edu, or complete the eligibility survey here
