Congratulations to our graduating seniors, Sami Isom, Veda Gourlay, and Abigail Schickling, and our graduating MS-SLP student Teanna Pounds!

The lab had a great time participating in Spring Fest 2023.

Dr. Kaganovich gave a talk titled “Atypical audiovisual speech processing in school-age children with developmental language disorder” at The Symposium on Research in Child Language Disorders (SRCLD), Madison, WI, June 2022.

A poster titled Speech production facilitates audiovisual word matching: An ERP Study” was presented at the 2022 Annual Meeting of the Society for the Neurobiology of Language, Philadelphia, PA, October 2022. The poster was co-authored by Dr. Kaganovich, Aditi Gargeshwari, and Jennifer Schumaker.

Congratulations to our graduating seniors, Ana RaghebCarrie Tornquist, and Emma Gausman!  All three will be starting Purdue’s MS-SLP program in the fall of 2022.

 

Ana Ragheb recently presented her Honors Scholarly Project, a poster titled Audiovisual Phonological Representations in Siblings of Children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), at the 2022 Spring Undergraduate Research Conference.  Congratulations, Ana! 

Emma Gausman was awarded the 2022 Flora Roberts Award! The Flora Roberts Award is presented annually to an outstanding senior woman for her scholarship, leadership, character, and service to the university community. This is one of the highest honors a graduating student can receive at Purdue.  Congratulations, Emma!

Aditi Gargeshwari was awarded the Robert L. Ringel Research Award for her project titled “Neural representation of unprocessed and hearing aid processed speech sounds in individuals with normal and impaired ears.” (Primary advisor is Dr. Ravi Krishnan.)

Emma Gausman was awarded as the Purdue University College of Health and Human Sciences 2022 Outstanding Senior for the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences!

Dr. Kaganovich was awarded a COVID Disruption Grant ($25,000) from the Purdue Offices for the Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships (EVPRP).
