About Our Research

Our research focuses on the interdisciplinary fields of physics, epidemiology, toxicology, and environmental health. As you learn more about how our environment impacts health, we often discover that many existing environmental risks are inherent in the careers and lives of our family, friends, and communities. The goal of our lab is to raise awareness of these issues in the community, both locally and worldwide. Our research has a focus on the basics of radiation detection and spectrometry through health physics. This naturally evolved into the development of instrumentation for exposure assessment in environmental health and science studies. Our current research focus is on developing new and existing exposure assessment tools, novel applications of exposure assessment tools in health studies and risk assessment, and community engaged research utilizing these technologies. The long-term research goals of the lab are to develop and apply exposure assessment tools in community environmental health studies.
