Françoise Brosseau-Lapré, Ph.D., CCC-SLP

Principal Investigator

Françoise Brosseau-Lapré is an Associate Professor of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) and a certified speech-language pathologist in Canada and in the United States. She holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Family Medicine, Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Brosseau-Lapré’s research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and Purdue University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on child speech and language development and disorders. Dr. Brosseau-Lapré is committed to high quality academic and clinical instruction and mentoring. She has won seven departmental teaching awards (six as Outstanding Undergraduate Instructor and one as Outstanding Graduate Instructor). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, traveling, hiking, and visiting Disney Parks or Universal Resorts.

Ella Birgel

Undergraduate Student

Ella Birgel is a sophomore majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with minors in Psychology and HDFS. Her hometown is Crown Point, Indiana. She plans on attending graduate school to receive her master’s degree in Speech Pathology and enjoys doing her nails in her free time. 

Jordan Ceron

Undergraduate Student

Jordan Ceron is a junior in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Anthropology. His hometown is Monon, Indiana and after graduating from Purdue, he plans on pursuing a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music, thrifting, playing games and collecting things. 

Taya George

Undergraduate Student

Taya George is a senior majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with minors in Psychology and Spanish. She is from Fort Wayne, Indiana. After graduation, Taya plans on pursuing a master’s in Speech Pathology. In her free time, she enjoys painting, going to concerts, reading, and traveling! 

Emma Hall

Undergraduate Student

Emma Hall is a sophomore majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Science with minors in Psychology and Human Development and Family Sciences. She is from Kokomo, Indiana. After graduation, Emma plans on pursuing a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, working out, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family!

Lauren Hammond

Undergraduate Student

Lauren Hammond is a senior in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and has a minor in Human Developmental Family Science. She is from Westfield, Indiana and plans to pursue a master’s degree in Speech Pathology after graduating from Purdue in May 2025. In her free time, Lauren is a tennis coach, and she loves to play tennis and pickleball with her friends. 

Nicole Milharcic

Undergraduate Student

Nicole Milharcic is a senior majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, with a minor in Psychology. She is from Avon, Indiana. After graduation, she is getting married in June and then is hoping to attend graduate school in the fall of 2025. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks, drinking coffee, talking with friends, playing Euchre, and watching Friends! 

Jill Robbins

Undergraduate Student

Jill Robbins is a sophomore in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Critical Disability Studies. She is from St. John, Indiana and plans to attend graduate school for Speech-Language Pathology. Eventually, she wants to work in a school setting or a private practice with kids. She loves reading, spending time with friends, and being outside. 

Chris Rogalny

Undergraduate Student

Chris Rogalny is a senior majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Organizational Leadership. He is from Paramus, New Jersey. After graduation, he plans on attending graduate school. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym! 

Bella Sharkey

Undergraduate Student

Bella Sharkey is a senior in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with minors in Psychology and Human Developmental Family Sciences. She is from Chicago, Illinois and plans to attend graduate school after she graduates in May 2025. In her free time, she loves going to hot yoga with her roommates.

Bailey Whitlock

Undergraduate Student

Bailey Whitlock is a senior majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with minors in Human Development and Family Sciences and Psychology. She is from Lafayette, Indiana. After graduation, Bailey plans on pursuing a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology to become a pediatric SLP. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and dog, going on walks, trying new restaurants, baking, and doing adult coloring books! 

Zoe Zhang

Undergraduate Student

Zoe Zhang is a senior majoring in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, and Chinese Studies with a minor in Psychological Sciences. She is from West Lafayette, Indiana. After graduation, Zoe plans to attend graduate school for Speech-Language Pathology. In her free time, she enjoys diamond painting, dancing, baking, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family, friends, and two cats!
