Dr. Françoise Brosseau-Lapré founded the Child Phonology Laboratory at Purdue in 2013. The lab currently includes many undergraduate students and collaborators within and outside Purdue University. Our group is dedicated to improving our understanding of speech development and disorders to better identify and develop more effective interventions for developmental speech sound disorders.

Principal Investigator
Françoise Brosseau-Lapré is an Associate Professor of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) and a certified speech-language pathologist in Canada and in the United States. She holds an adjunct appointment in the Department of Family Medicine, Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Brosseau-Lapré’s research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and Purdue University. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses on child speech and language development and disorders. Dr. Brosseau-Lapré is committed to high quality academic and clinical instruction and mentoring. She has won seven departmental teaching awards (six as Outstanding Undergraduate Instructor and one as Outstanding Graduate Instructor). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, traveling, hiking, and visiting Disney Parks or Universal Resorts.
