Biography
Abby is the special projects and communications manager for Purdue’s White Lodging-J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. In her position, Abby provides leadership and management for communications and information dissemination, develops and directs media relations, and plans special events and projects.
Abby’s previous experience includes event planning for Purdue’s College of Engineering, where she focused on creating unique event experiences that were effective and efficient for high-profile events and stakeholders. She is responsible for coordinating several annual events, including but not limited to student, faculty, and staff ceremonies, groundbreaking events, industry workshops, and virtual celebrations.
Abby’s previous role was with the Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN), a collaborative multi-state effort to enhance services for disaster-affected citizens. As a consultant to over 300 specialists and educators, she focused on marketing/communication and disaster education. Her primary mission was to bolster communities’ resilience by aiding in developing and maintaining strategies and programs.
Abby holds a B.S. in agricultural communications from Purdue University (‘08).
