Biography
Professor Hartman’s journey in nursing began with a passion for patient care, evolving from a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and ultimately a Registered Nurse (RN). After gaining experience in diverse healthcare settings, including medical-surgical, office nursing, hospice, and long-term care, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to further her knowledge and leadership skills.
Driven by a desire to empower future healthcare professionals, Professor Hartman obtained certifications as a CNA and QMA instructor in the state of Indiana. Witnessing student growth and development within the learning environment fueled my passion for nursing education.
Professor Hartman is a Indiana State Tester for CNA Certifications, and continues with research related to Nursing Education and Simulation, as well as Diabetes Care and Management in the elder population.
Currently, Professor Hartman holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree and maintains her RN license in Indiana. In addition to instructor certifications for CNA and QMA programs, she is a certified American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor. Furthermore, she is actively pursuing a certification as a nurse educator, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Beyond academics, Professor Hartman finds balance and personal fulfillment through hiking. Travel is another source of joy, with a goal of exploring all 50 states and expanding her international experiences. This combination of professional dedication, lifelong learning, and a commitment to personal well-being allows Professor Hartman to approach nursing education with enthusiasm and a well-rounded perspective.
