Dr. Emily Seiger is trained in community-engaged research, community based participatory research, and mixed qualitative and quantitative methods. She partners with youth and youth-serving organizations both globally and in the US to ensure that youth and community priorities, ideas, and expertise are integrated with scientific knowledge to promote their optimal nutrition and health. Topically, she has training in global cardiometabolic disease, coexisting forms of malnutrition including iron deficiency, infant feeding, adolescent nutrition and dietary decision making, and youth mental health. Broadly, Dr. Seiger studies the socioecological factors that influence dietary decision-making and nutrition, with a particular focus on adolescence.
