Biography
Dr. Fabiana Dos Santos is an Assistant Professor at Purdue University School of Nursing. Her research focuses on the intersection of nursing informatics and patient-centered care. Her projects use structured and unstructured electronic health record data to measure the impact of nursing care on health outcomes. Her research also targets the designing and testing of clinical decision support to assist patients and clinicians in decision-making regarding symptom management, health promotion, and disease prevention. Before joining Purdue, Dr. Dos Santos worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University School of Nursing (NY) and earned her Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Florida (FL).
Research Interests: Artificial intelligence in healthcare – Chronic illness (e.g., cancer) – Data and information visualizations – Healthcare technology – Human-computer interaction – Standardized nursing languages.
