Biography

Dr. Jessica Emlich Jochum is an Associate Clinical Professor and the Associate Program Director for the Athletic Training Program at Purdue University. Dr. Jochum completed a BS in Health Sciences at Grand Valley State University (2000), a Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) also at Grand Valley State University, and a PhD in Human Performance and Recreation from the University of Southern Mississippi (2008). Dr. Jochum previously served as a faculty member in the Athletic Training Program at Franklin College (2004-2011).  She was the Co-Program Director and Co-Clinical Coordinator of Athletic Training at Baldwin Wallace University (2011-2016). And most recently, she served as the Director of the Master of Science in Athletic Training Program at the University of Indianapolis (2016-2025). She has served the athletic training profession at the state level as the Secretary of the Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association (2008-2011). For eleven years, Dr. Jochum was the Education Coordinator for the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association, where she led the Education Committee in planning the Annual Meeting and Clinical Symposium (2010-2022). She is currently serving as the District 4 representative on the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Hall of Fame Selection Committee. Dr. Jochum has a wide range of interests in youth sports and interprofessional education, where she has published and presented on these topics regionally, nationally, and internationally. Dr. Jochum resides in Greenwood with her daughter, where she spends her free time enjoying the outdoors.
