Biography
Dr. Shannahan is a trained toxicologist with expertise in how susceptible subpopulations respond to toxic exposures. Dr. Shannahan teaches the following subjects: general toxicology, inhalation exposures and toxicology, pulmonary physiology, and occupational exposures. Dr. Shannahan conducts research on nanomaterial-biological interactions, lipid-mediated inflammatory signaling, susceptibility, complex occupational emission exposures, and electronic nicotine delivery system-induced oral health effects. To perform his research Dr. Shannahan utilizes cell culture models, animal models, and human samples.
