Biography
Preeti Sivasankar is the Vice President for Research Innovation in the Office of Research. In this role, she oversees the division of Strategic Interdisciplinary Research and leads the Lilly/Purdue 360 partnership as Executive Director of the Lilly Purdue Research Center.
Preeti is a committed teacher and scientist. Her programmatic research on voice disorders and upper airway pathophysiology has been continually funded by the National Institutes of Health. Her research and teaching have been recognized with multiple awards including the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) Career Research Achievement award; the HHS award for Excellence in Undergraduate Education; the HHS Graduate Mentor award; and the SLHS Outstanding Undergraduate Instructor award.
Preeti previously served as the Department Head of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) and as the Assistant Vice President for Strategic Health Research in the Office of Research. She holds a courtesy appointment in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and an adjunct appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (Indiana University School of Medicine). Preeti is an elected Fellow of the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, an Associate Fellow of the American Laryngological Association, and a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice. She is past-Editor of the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology.
