Biography

Dr. Chun-Hung Hugo Tang has a diverse experience in the hospitality industry, ranging from chain restaurants to upscale hotels. Dr. Tang’s research interest is in developing financial and economic solutions to address unique operational risks in the hospitality and tourism industry. In that vein, his research topics mostly fall in the areas of strategic management, asset management, and revenue management. Tang’s studies have been recognized by several research awards and all his first-authored articles are published in HTM Tier 1+ journals.

Tang is currently a coordinating editor for International Journal of Hospitality Management and serves on the editorial board of International Journal of Hospitality Management. He has been CentralCHRIE’s Director of Research since 2022 and served as the review committee chair of the 2022 and 2023 CentralCHRIE conferences. He has been invited to give executive training workshops in international hotels and doctoral seminars at universities. Tang is also actively in mentoring graduate students to produce high quality studies. One of the doctoral students won the first place in ICHRIE’s PhD dissertation competition in 2023.
