Health of the Forces
An initiative of the Purdue University College of Health and Human Sciences, Health of the Forces is translating scientific research into real-world impact for the military community through strategic partnerships, pilot funding, faculty and graduate student engagement, and grant proposal-writing resources.
Mission
Health of the Forces will build and sustain an interdisciplinary research community at Purdue University in collaboration with the Purdue Military Research Institute and the Military Family Research Institute to address the health-related needs of active-duty personnel, veterans and their families. Having already engaged more than 200 researchers through webinars, symposia and consulting sessions, the initiative aims to generate proposals and grant awards across Purdue’s campus.
Goals
- Increase military-relevant grant submissions by Purdue faculty
- Promote collaborative and interdisciplinary research within the Purdue community and with Department of War research programs and facilities
- Amplify the visibility of Purdue’s health research in the military space
