Biography
Lauren’s nursing career has spanned care for patients of all ages in outpatient and inpatient settings, including primary care pediatrics, adult medical-oncology and hospice, and neonatal intensive care. She has volunteered as a post-anesthesia recovery nurse for medical missions in remote regions of the Philippines. With special interest in family-centered perinatal and pediatric care, Lauren is a certified lactation counselor and a primary care pediatric nurse practitioner. She is pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at Purdue University, with anticipated completion in 2024.
As a nurse educator, Lauren fosters students’ understanding of the scientific and artistic natures of the nursing profession. She strives to prepare nurses to think critically about clinical situations; to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and other professionals; and to address proactively patients’ short-term and long-term health goals.
