Preeti Sivasankar

Preeti Sivasankar is interim dean of the College of Pharmacy and executive director of the Lilly-Purdue 360 Initiative. A dedicated educator, mentor and scientist, she leads a research program focused on upper airway pathophysiology with funding from the National Institutes of Health. Her scholarship and teaching have been recognized with numerous honors, including the College of Health and Human Sciences (HHS) Career Research Achievement Award, HHS Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Education, HHS Graduate Mentor Award and Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences Outstanding Undergraduate Instructor Award.

Prior to assuming her current role, Sivasankar served as vice president for research innovation in the Office of Research, a position from which she is on leave while serving as interim dean. Her previous administrative roles include head of the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and assistant vice president for strategic health research.

Sivasankar holds a courtesy appointment in the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering and an adjunct appointment in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine. She is a former editor of the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology, a Fellow of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association, an Associate Fellow of the American Laryngological Association and a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice.
