René Helfert

Biography

René serves as the Career Center Coordinator for The Ray Kavanaugh Career Center at Purdue’s White Lodging-J.W. Marriott, Jr. School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. She is also the department’s Schedule Deputy. In her role, she provides tailored assistance with resumé and cover letter reviews, interview preparation, internship exploration, and other professional development guidance.

René brings a wealth of experience to her position. She has worked with Purdue’s Agricultural and Biological Engineering undergraduate students, as well as assisting Brigham Young University students in securing internships and post-graduation employment through the Career Services Department. Her background includes several roles with other higher education institutions, as well as experience in the Public Television, cruise-line, and film industries, offering her unique perspective on career development.

René has a B.A. in Television and Film Production from Brigham Young University.
