Psychology Undergraduate Research Conference

The Department of Psychological Sciences hosts an Undergraduate Research Conference yearly as an event dedicated to showcasing the innovative research of undergraduate students in the field of psychology. This conference provides a platform for students to present their findings on a wide array of psychological topics, fostering a spirit of inquiry and collaboration. By sharing their work, students not only contribute to the advancement of psychological science but also gain valuable experience in communicating complex ideas to a broader audience. If you have any questions about the conference, please email Emily Iffert (rettige@purdue.edu) or Colin William (ctwilliam@purdue.edu).

This conference is for undergraduate students enrolled at Purdue West Lafayette. The mentor on each research project must be a Purdue West Lafayette faculty member.

Virtual Poster Presentation Submission

For the Undergraduate Research Conference we are going to be selecting one poster to win “Best Poster”. This year, we are going to do pre-conference virtual poster judging to narrow the field to a number of finalists. The final winner will be selected through judging that will take place on the day of the conference and announced within a week after the conference. A cash prize may be awarded to the Best Poster winner (though this is contingent on eligibility as determined by a review by the financial aid office).

If you are interested in participating in the contest for the “Best Poster” for a chance to win a prize, please read the instructions below.

  • Please upload a video presentation of your poster board here by 12PM on April3rd. The video must be uploaded in MP4, MOV, or WMV format. It should be no longer than 3 minutes. When you upload the video, please title it within the “File description” section with the principle presenter’s (last name, first name) so we can distinguish them. This video presentation should be similar to what you would share with people on the day of the conference (think elevator pitch).
  • There are no specific guidelines for how you are to record your video (voice over, poster only, poster & presenter), but here is a video that you could watch to help you when making your video presentation. You will want to begin the video at the time stamp 27:37. You will need to skip through some sections as it is recorded in Q&A style. Hope this is helpful!

If you have any questions, please email Emily Iffert (rettige@purdue.edu).
