My sophomore year I was an intern for an election campaign! The candidate actually worked for Purdue and was a huge advocate for easier access to mental health resources. The experience gave me a unique perspective on the mechanisms that connect public health and government.

Explore your interests early! There are a ton of awesome opportunities to discover within HHS and Purdue as a whole. Take some time to check out the different opportunities and find what truly sparks your passion. It’s totally okay to feel a bit unsure at first—use those first few semesters to try new things and see what you love. This journey will guide you in finding a path that best fits you and get you pumped for your future career!
