Amanda Mayes

Biography

Dr. Amanda Mayes is a Senior Research Associate in Human Development and Family Studies and a Visiting Assistant Professor in Cornerstone Integrated Liberal Arts. Mayes teaches the Transformative Texts course, has over a decade of experience teaching Visual Arts at the K-12 and collegiate level, and has won numerous teaching awards. Her research interests include early childhood education, academic and intrinsic impacts of arts experiences, acquisition of early math learning skills, program assessment, improving cultural competency, and arts advocacy.
