Faisel Aboul-Enien

Biography

Dr. Aboul-Enein has more than 21 years of teaching experience, in a wide variety of educational settings that range from undergraduate to doctoral programs in the BSN, MSN, MHA, DrPH, MPH, PhD, DNP programs, non-profit to profit, traditional classroom to online settings.  His positions in academia have been diverse and have included serving as faculty, subject matter expert, consultant, researcher, lead faculty, curriculum designer, master’s thesis member and dissertation chair. Prior to the entering academia, Dr. Aboul-Enein was the Administrative Director for a large Level 1 Tertiary Medical Center Emergency Department.

Dr. Aboul-Enein has a 25-year working career in nursing that began in Saudi Arabia working in primary care. He has held many positions, including staff nurse on a renal transplant unit, ICU nurse, administrative supervisor, director, nurse practitioner in triage services, and hospital staff development. Dr. Aboul-Enein has been published in numerous publications including the Journal of Public Health and International Journal of Nursing Practice. He has authored a chapter in a book entitled, “Race and Ethnicity.” He has published a book entitled, “Management Style of Dr. William Gorgas against Yellow Fever: Lessons Learned for Health Care Leaders,” published by Lambert Academic Publishing based in Germany.

Dr. Aboul-Enein has conducted many presentations, internationally and nationally. He served as a nurse practitioner officer in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps reserve with the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He has won numerous awards such as the Spirit of Nursing award from the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and the Best Nurses award in 2006 from the Texas Nurses Association and in 2022 was awarded the ELEX Entrepreneurship Leader Award for his extensive experience as a mentor and business coach the past 15 years to several health care start up’s in the United States and overseas with TMCx Innovations, Flat6Labs, and UTMB Venture Mentor. He is an active member of the American College of Health Care Executives and the Southern Nursing Research Society. Dr. Aboul-Enein is fluent in Arabic and Spanish. He has effectively led as an educator, mentor, clinician, administrator, and researcher.
