Biography
I am a Research Scientist and member of Dr. Preeti Sivasankar’s research team in the SLHS department. Our group is focused on studying the larynx, more specifically the vocal fold tissue, and how it responds to endogenous and exogenous challenges at the molecular level. We are particularly interested in the gene and protein expression changes due to dehydration, age, and hormones.
I earned my Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) in 2007 and 2011, respectively. Since 2011, I have participated in multiple projects as a post-doc in different departments at Purdue. I joined Dr. Sivasankar’s research group in August 2018.
