Biography
I began my career in the late 1980s as a cost accountant with the Federal Bureau of Prisons, managing a staff comprise of 17 inmates. After leaving the federal sector, I transitioned to retail management, where I spent 14 years. Initially, I managed mini-marts before spending the majority of this time managing our family-owned business, Reifer’s Furniture.
In 2004, I started working at Purdue University through a temporary service, initially joining the Office of the Vice President of Information Technology under Denny Feldman. I then moved to the Construction Inspectors Office under Chris Skiba while awaiting a permanent position in the Vice President’s office. When the Office of the Vice President of Information Technology was dissolved in 2009, my position was eliminated, and I worked temporarily under Gary Rantz, the Director of Information Technology, until December of that year.
In 2010, I transitioned to the Office of Professional Preparation and Licensure under T.J. Oakes, where I stayed until I was offered a position with the Indiana Department of Education.
In August 2024, I was presented with an opportunity to join the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.
