HHS DEI Undergraduate Committee

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Creating a More Inclusive Environment

The College of Health and Human Sciences seeks student input on issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through the HHS Undergraduate Student DEI Committee that will continue the college’s efforts in creating a more inclusive environment. The committee will include undergraduate students across HHS majors and with diverse backgrounds, and participation offers students opportunities to identify needs for the college, share ideas, develop resources, and build leadership and communication skills.

Eligibility

  • Interest in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the College of Health and Human Sciences.
  • Full-time enrollment in HHS.

Requirements and Responsibilities

  • Attend monthly meetings and participate in online email discussions about committee activities and projects, including that of Working Groups.
  • Lead, co-lead, and/or contribute to Working Groups. The Working Groups are essentially subcommittees or initiative areas that allow HHS students to work with committee members to address needs and solve problems. Contribute to making HHS more inclusive by offering input, ideas, and suggestions.
  • Complete committee work as needed (which can include gathering information, communicating with peers in the college, liaising with department DEI committees, helping to develop resources, and assisting with events).
  • Maintain cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.

Please complete the online application by Friday, September 13, 2024 to apply for open committee positions for the 2024-2025 academic year. If you have any questions, please contact Tammy Conard-Salvo.
