Talk Title: What is the Harm of Cultural Appropriation?

Dr. Kirby researches the strategies that people use to navigate diversity and difference in organizations and broader society, as well as the implications of those strategies for underrepresented or disadvantaged groups.

Dr. Kirby’s talk will focus on the following questions:

1. What is cultural appropriation?

2. How does cultural appropriation impact frequently appropriated racial/ethnic groups?

3. What can we do to create smoother interactions in a multicultural society?
