Biography
Dr. Nicely is an Associate Professor in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Purdue. Her primary area of research is behavioral issues in hospitality business and tourism communities. She is the founder and lead researcher of the Visitor Harassment Research Unit at Purdue.
Her work has been published in leading academic journals in hospitality and tourism business such as the Annals of Tourism Research, Tourism Management, Journal of Travel Research, International Journal of Hospitality Management, and International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. Her work has been presented at various academic conferences in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. While at Purdue she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in Human Resource Management and Lodging Management. Prior to joining academia, she worked in the hospitality industry at both the supervisory and management levels. And between 2006 and 2010 she was a frequent contributor to Jamaica’s Daily Gleaner newspaper bi-weekly feature magazine, Hospitality Jamaica.
