Biography

Dr. Jennifer Popp is a Clinical Professor and the Clinical Education Coordinator for the Athletic Training Program at Purdue University. Dr. Popp completed a BS in Athletic Training at Western Illinois University (1996), an MS in Human Performance at the University of Wisconsin La Crosse (1997), and an EdD in Education Administration at Ball State University (2005).  Dr. Popp was a long time faculty member at Anderson University (1997-2011), teaching in the Athletic Training Program and providing athletic training services for a number of intercollegiate athletic teams.  Prior to joining the faculty at Purdue University, Dr. Popp was the Program Director and Assistant Professor in the Athletic Training Program at Ball State University.  She has served the athletic training profession through committee involvement at the state level, was the GLATA Secretary for four years (2018-2022), and has served as a CAATE Site Visitor.  Dr. Popp is passionate about emergency management and acute care skills; she has published and presented on this topic many times at local, state, regional, and national conferences, and helps develop simulations to provide students “real life” experiences in this area.  Dr. Popp resides in West Lafayette with her husband, Lenny, and two children, Ethan and Kamryn, where her free time is spent enjoying life as a fan at her kids’ sporting events.
